Sarre Jahan se acha Hindusita humara humara..

The other day we were having discussion with our
colleagues about the India
and Indian economy. I can say that it was more of a comparison of life style in
India
and abroad, specifically speaking between Indian life and German life.

Some how all of us found German life very simple and nice. To mention few
points:

- State Health Insurance

- Unemployment allowance

- round the clock water and power supply

- Excellent public transportation system

- best roads in the world.

- Strong Infrastructure in all the cities

- Very disciplined life.. people follow rule.. and believe that rules are made
following them and not for breaking them.

and the list is long... then moving on from all the positive side of life
here, all of realized that we all miss our parents or family our friends out
there..

Then we all just wondered why is India not progressing and why don’t we have
these basic facilities available to everyone in India..

Apart from the things which govt can manage there are things for which we cant blame government i   mean things like cleanliness & discipline are our own responsibility .. If you try to get answers to these problems,
I bet you will end up in a void.

I think that the kind of education we get makes us
more ferocious... Makes us to compete and feel happy when you beat somebody... It
fails to inculcate discipline and respect for system as whole.. we think that
whatever we are thinking is the best.. and this is the reason why we fail to
understand that we are suppose to stop at red light even it is late in night…

While we were discussing all this one colleague said
that the “Population explosion”  is the
reason for all these problems.. to this the other friend said that he is not
convinced that population is a reason.. bcoz he thought that our country has
huge land area and the area is sufficient for all of us.. Then we compared the
land area to population .. it came that we have population density of 329
people per sq Km where as Canada
had 3.2 p/sq km.. this contrast was tooo much for all of us to accept.. Then
discussion moved towards means to control this problem.. Some said that like China
there should be a strict rule to restrict the no. of children per family.. but
then it was hinted that such a drastic step is impossible in democratic
country.. A country where govt doesn’t think beyond 10 years.. 5 years when it
is in power and next 5 years when it wants to be in power... Why would
government make rules to curb their vote banks… I know you wont get any answer
to these questions…

I just hope that we can say "Saare jahan se acha hindusita humara" without having any doubts about it..I sincerely wish
that God fulfill my this wish..

Note:: the blog is not complete i have lot to under under this heading .. i am just short of time today.. will get back soon.. till then take care.. have fun..

Building of faith with bricks of small, practical events.

Holidays days.. Hmm who doesnt enjoy them..:)Enjoyment also takes us to indisciplined life.
The sleep mantra for me these days is that sleep late and get up later.. at night i think that by sleeping late i can make the most out of my holidays .. thats why the whole cycle of sleeping late is repeated for last 3 days.. Yesterday  night i read an article  about effect of sleep disorders on health.. To my shock there are far more affects than i could have imagined and certainly more in value than i will gain out of my extended days..
After reading the article i was convinced to join the bandwagon of early sleepers.
And since i was reading this article at 3 in night so i was pretty sure that it will take me another week or so to mend my sleep cycle which is disturbed as a result of pampering i have been doing because of holidays.:) Any how since i am a shajayogini "Some body who follows meditation called Sahaja yoga " visit "http://sahajayoga.org/" , so i prayed Shri Mataji that please wake me up at 7 im morning, which was unacheivable time for me to wake up.. in absence of my mother (who has been doing this task since my first day to school.. till my recent memories..). And i have a phlegmatic attitude towards alarm clocks.. I dont respect alarm clocks in morning.. so i just turn them out and sleep again.. So in all the calculatable possibilities it was sure that i cant acheive my ideal target of getting up at 7 in the morning..

But since i have very strong faith in results of  my prayers to Shri Mataji.. I slept with faith.. But as always as i went to deep sleep and  forgot about my commitments to my health care regime and disciplinde life.. and i was enjoying my sleep suddenly i heard water running in Kitchen sink.. and after ignoring the sound for around 10 mins i got up and saw that only few drops were coming out of tap.. when i am saying few drops it means that the frequency is no more than 1 drop per min. After seeing the dish under the tap it can be easily said that this tap must have been running all night long at this rate only.. But when i saw the time in clock it was 7:11 in morning..and then instantly i understood that this is a result of my prayer to Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi.. The stream of drops didnt bother me whole night and at my proposed time i woke up because of them only..

This is another addition to plurality of my faith in sahaja yoga meditation. I have seen that all my wishes are granted , if they are for my favour..all my wishes which will be of harm to me in future are ignored.. It gives confidence in the whole life.. :)

Hope i will enjoy my health and disciplinned life coupled with my stronger faith in God around me..

Our Mother EARTH

LIFE CYCLE: A couple ride their
tandem bicycle in Hefei, in China’s Anhui province. The duo had decided
on a more environment friendly and thrifty method to get to their
wedding reception

This images sends a strong signal , that people arebecoming more conscious about earth.
Also the unfathomable climate change is in limelight now. There can't be any better proof then the limelight of prestigious Nobel Peace Prize 2007 being shifted to the people and group who worked in bringing awarness  for the measures that are needed to counteract man made changes to the climate.

In today"s "The Times of  India " delhi edition, there is an article by Jug saraiya titled "Humankind and I must begin a dialogue"

Q&A

‘Humankind and I must begin a dialogue’

Following
the joint winning by Al Gore and the R K Pachauri-led Intergovernmental
Panel on Climate Change of the Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to
preserve the global environment, Jug Suraiya interviews Mother Earth on
what she feels about the entire crusade to save her:

    Since
you were born some 4.5 billion years ago, you have faced many dangers
from colliding meteors to volcanic eruptions and tectonic plate shifts.
What has been the greatest danger you’ve faced so far?

It
is so ironic but the most perfect being I’ve given birth to has also
been my most dangerous enemy. And that being is Homo sapiens, the only
species that can change the course of evolution and by doing so, change
the destiny of all species and
of the planet itself.

Do you think this human child of yours will ever see the error of his ways and make amends to you?

I can only hope so, because if he does not and I am destroyed then he himself will be destroyed and everything else on this
planet.
Already, every day, several hundred species of plant and other forms of
life are being annihilated, with no hope of resurrection.
    What
effect this will ultimately have on my health is not known, either to
me or to anyone else. But certainly, it cannot be beneficial.
    What
is needed is that humankind and I must begin a dialogue as we had in
the past and which he has forgotten about in his pell-mell rush towards
an ever-receding goal which he calls progress.

Are you doing anything to try and initiate this dialogue?

Yes,
I’m giving hints such as the melting of the polar ice caps, tsunamis,
global warming, and other warning signs that something is very wrong
and needs to be put right.
All these should be seen as
signs
that a dialogue between me and my wilful child is crucial for our
mutual survival, and that dialogue cannot be put off to a tomorrow that
might never come but must be started today, now.

What can ordinary individuals do to help start this dialogue and carry it forward?

The
first thing they can do is to open their eyes and ears and see the many
wounds they’ve inflicted on me and hear the pain these wounds have
caused me and then they can find out how they themselves can help in
healing them. How? By wasting fewer of my resources, by adopting
lifestyles that are less harmful to me, by burning up less energy and
reducing polluting emissions.
To begin with, you, reader, could try and ensure that the paper this is printed on is recycled.

All the attention given is much deserved as the changes can threaten the living condition of the child of Earth.. homosapiens.. We as individuals can make changes.. our small effort can help to improve the Face of our mother.. our earth...The blue ball will look as beautiful as ever from the space and from  from our hearts.. lets just pledge to be little concious .. like we should switch off lights  and other electronic equipments  when we dont need them.. a  small step help  saving resources  , which earth wont give us again in near future.

A blog which won't hold meaning for anyone else but me..

This is in continuation to my passion to learn new words and
to use them, ya ya i sound like aspiring to be lexicographic.. May be you are
not wrong.. :)I wish i can fuel my mind with all the words and can make
beautiful bouquet for words(poems or letters) for my friends.
So all i am going to do in this blog is to write down all the words i am
learning..

so the first one is adulation
:: Means praising somebody more than required/deserved, flattering
http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/Opinion/Letters_to_Editor/Dont_pamper/articleshow/2406943.cms

In the present context, this is the best news article to attach with my first
word.

Okay now there are three words which are almost similar but are of course different
.. not exactly homologous.

These are Advent , Avert, Advert
Advent
:: arrival
Avert
:
: prevent , avoid, turn away
Advert :
: To refer to as in Advertisement

Yes this next word is my favourite

Adventitious :: Now in Botony it refers to a structure which is grown out of place /on its own

         Scientific American 1849

TO PREVENT INCRUSTATIONS IN STEAM BOILERS

Mr. J. Horsley, in the Isle of Wight, for substances to prevent incrustations. He
employs for ordinary sea water, two drachms of the oxalate of potassa combimied
with two ounces of ammonia phosphate of soda to each gallon of water operated on.
This precipitates the adventitious matter in the boiler, and keeps it from forming on
the plates in crusts. It is evident that this is far too expensive an anti- crustant ever to
come into use; but he states that this mixture will render salt water fresh and fit for
common cooking uses. This itself is a chemical fact of no small value.
n.However in normal use it means "Added extrinsically; not essentially inherent."

The next word is derived from history and it is

Aegis:: Hmm the only analogy i can think of from our mythology is of ram band", something which will not fail .. similarly this word is from greek mythology and is name of the mythological protective shield of Zeus. And in mordern english it means a shield, protection, or sponsorship. The concept of doing something "under someone"s gis" means doing something under protection of a powerful, knowledgeable, or benevolent source. The word gis is identified with protection by a strong force.See this these guys make aegis helmets :) http://www.tackroominc.com/riding-helmets-aegis-riding-helmets-c-22_201.html

So the last one for the day is

Affable: Which means ,warm friendly , easily approachable.. You know when i first read this word i thought of my sweet friend Pooja.. my other colleague named Manomina Bose ya Smita also makes her place in my mind..[I know you all dont know these but these girls r for my association with this word] people who are raelly sweet and just by their presence things starts becoming vibrational..

Bryan Adams.. here i am

Here I am - this is me

There"s no where else on earth I"d rather be

Here I am - it"s just me and you

And tonight we make our dreams come true

It"s a new world - it"s a new start

It"s alive with the beating of young hearts

It"s a new day - it"s a new plan

I"ve been waiting for you

Here I am

Here we are - we"ve just begun

And after all this time - our time has come

Ya here we are - still goin" strong

Right here in the place where we belong

Here I am - this is me

There"s no where else on earth I"d rather be

Here I am - it"s just me and you

And tonight we make our dreams come true

Here I am - next to you

And suddenly the world is all brand new

Here I am - where I"m gonna stay

Now there"s nothin standin in our way

Here I am - this is me

So here i am. .. with my new set of words..
Vaise since i have mentions Bryan Adams then i can certainly not miss the the most apt song here..

It"s only words and words are all i have to take your heart away.

smile an ever lasting smile

a smile can bring you near to me

don"t ever let me find you gone

"cause that would bring a tear to me

this world has lost its glory

let"s start a brand new story

now my love

you think that I don"t even mean

a single word I say

it"s only words

and words are all I have

to take your heart away

talk in ever lasting words

and dedicate them all to me

and I will give you all my life

i"m here if you should call to me

you think that I don"t even mean

a single word I say

it"s only words

and words are all I have

to take your heart away

it"s only words

and words are all I have

to take your heart away

da da da da da da da

da da da da da da da da da da

da da da da da da da

da da da da da da da da da da

this world has lost its glory

let"s start a brand new story

now my love

you think that I don"t even mean

a single word I say

it"s only words

and words are all I have

to take your heart away

it"s only words

and words are all I have

to take your heart away

it"s only words

and words are all I have

to take your heart away

So here i am , with words i have..he he he
I have been jabbering for quit sometime in my blog so my next word is
Jabber:: just speak out without much thinking.. an unintelligent speach.. chatter rapidly..

Jeopardized :: To put at risk, endangered

Jettison: meaning to throw or eject from a ship, aircraft or vehicle; or discard or abandon
Human Jettison: Lifeboat Ethics and Economic Efficiency

Edify: To instruct and inform someone to uplift morally and spiritually.

I"m lucky enough to have seen so many angels. Every day I come
across those who get on with the work that God has put them on earth to
do without fussing, those who encourage, those who edify, those who
live a life of intercession. They"re the angels I see and they"re the
angels God see"s too!

i dont know what to say about this word though its a negative word still i kind of liked it
Amok (amuk) : when used as an adjective it means :frenzied as if possessed by a demon
but as an adverb it means : wildly without self-control , in a murderous frenzy

Running amok most commonly used phrase, "to go mad with rage" (uncontrollable rage). Although commonly
used in a colloquial and less-violent sense, the phrase is particularly
associated with a specific sociopathic culture-bound syndrome
in Malaysian culture. In typical a case of running amok, a male who has
shown no previous sign of anger or any inclination to violence will
acquire a weapon and, in a sudden frenzy, will attempt to kill or
seriously injure anyone he encounters. Amok episodes of this kind
normally end with the attacker being killed by bystanders, or
committing suicide.

Anachronism:: an error involving time in a story; something
or someone misplaced in time
An anachronism is anything that is temporally incongruous—that is, it appears in a temporal context in which it seems sufficiently out of place as to be peculiar,
incomprehensible or impossible. The item is often an object, but may be
a verbal ex-pression, a technology, a philosophical idea, a musical
style, a material

coerce:: To cause to do through pressure or necessity, by physical, moral or intellectual means.

Ambrosia:
The food of god , In ancient Greek mythology, Ambrosia is sometimes the food, sometimes the drink, of the gods, often depicted as conferring immortality on whoever consumes it. Nectar is the drink and ambrosia the food of god.

Drawing a blank:to be unable to get information, think of something, or achieve something.
Ask them about the car"s performance and you"ll draw a blank.
We"ve asked 2000 schools to join the campaign, but so far we"ve drawn a blank. (= none of them agreed)

Your Thought and Mine by khalil Gibran

I just like this poem by khalil Gibran and liked to share this with you all..

Your thought is a tree rooted deep in the soil of tradition and whose branches grow in the power of continuity.
My thought is a cloud moving in the space. It turns into drops which, as they fall, form a brook that sings its way into the sea. Then it rises as vapour into the sky.
Your thought is a fortress that neither gale nor the lightning can shake.
My thought is a tender leaf that sways in every direction and finds pleasure in its swaying.
Your thought is an ancient dogma that cannot change you nor can you change it.
My thought is new, and it tests me and I test it morn and eve.

You have your thought and I have mine.

Your thought allows you to believe in the unequal contest of the strong against the weak, and in the tricking of the simple by the subtle ones.
My thought creates in me the desire to till the earth with my hoe, and harvest the crops with my sickle, and build my home with stones and mortar, and weave my raiment with woollen and linen threads.
Your thought urges you to marry wealth and notability.
Mine commends self-reliance.
Your thought advocates fame and show.
Mine counsels me and implores me to cast aside notoriety and treat it like a grain of sand cast upon the shore of eternity.
Your thought instils in your heart arrogance and superiority.
Mine plants within me love for peace and the desire for independence.
Your thought begets dreams of palaces with furniture of sandalwood studded with jewels, and beds made of twisted silk threads.
My thought speaks softly in my ears, “Be clean in body and spirit even if you have nowhere to lay your head.”
Your thought makes you aspire to titles and offices.
Mine exhorts me to humble service.

You have your thought and I have mine.

Your thought is social science, a religious and political dictionary.
Mine is simple axiom.
Your thought speaks of the beautiful woman, the ugly, the virtuous, the prostitute, the intelligent, and the stupid.
Mine sees in every woman a mother, a sister, or a daughter of every man.
The subjects of your thought are thieves, criminals, and assassins.
Mine declares that thieves are the creatures of monopoly, criminals are the offspring of tyrants, and assassins are akin to the slain.
Your thought describes laws, courts, judges, punishments.
Mine explains that when man makes a law, he either violates it or obeys it. If there is a basic law, we are all one before it. He who disdains the mean is himself mean. He who vaunts his scorn of the sinful vaunts his disdain of all humanity.
Your thought concerns the skilled, the artist, the intellectual, the philosopher, the priest.
Mine speaks of the loving and the affectionate, the sincere, the honest, the forthright, the kindly, and the martyr.
Your thought advocates Judaism, Brahmanism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Islam.
In my thought there is only one universal religion, whose varied paths are but the fingers of the loving hand of the Supreme Being.
In your thought there are the rich, the poor, and the beggared.
My thought holds that there are no riches but life; that we are all beggars, and no benefactor exists save life herself.

You have your thought and I have mine.

According to your thought, the greatness of nations lies in their politics, their parties, their conferences, their alliances and treaties.
But mine proclaims that the importance of nations lies in work – work in the field, work in the vineyards, work with the loom, work in the tannery, work in the quarry, work in the timberyard, work in the office and in the press.
Your thought holds that the glory of the nations is in their heroes. It sings the praises of Rameses, Alexander, Caesar, Hannibal, and Napoleon.
But mine claims that the real heroes are Confucius, Lao-Tse, Socrates, Plato, Abi Taleb, El Gazali, Jalal Ed-din-el Roumy, Copernicus, and Pasteur.
Your thought sees power in armies, cannons, battleships, submarines, aeroplanes, and poison gas.
But mine asserts that power lies in reason, resolution, and truth. No matter how long the tyrant endures, he will be the loser at the end.
Your thought differentiates between pragmatist and idealist, between the part and the whole, between the mystic and materialist.
Mine realizes that life is one and its weights, measures and tables do not coincide with your weights, measures and tables. He whom you suppose an idealist may be a practical man.

You have your thought and I have mine.

Your thought is interested in ruins and museums, mummies and petrified objects.
But mine hovers in the ever-renewed haze and clouds.
Your thought is enthroned on skulls. Since you take pride in it, you glorify it too.
My thought wanders in the obscure and distant valleys.
Your thought trumpets while you dance.
Mine prefers the anguish of death to your music and dancing.
Your thought is the thought of gossip and false pleasure.
Mine is the thought of him who is lost in his own country, of the alien in his own nation, of the solitary among his kinfolk and friends.

You have your thought and I have mine.

Catch Race everyday………..

As I told in my first blog that I am a german expatriate, its not that I am sent here against my will, the fact is that I chose to come here, in desire to experience new culture and expand my horizon, But seems that the first barrier in adjustment to this culture is… that I am not able to catch-up with clock driven life style..

Life in Germany moves in the fast lane…In India life is comparatively simple and slow even in the capital city..I try desperately to save each second... right from the time I wake up…to gulping the last pieces forced into my mouth as breakfast…spilling half of the milk down my throat.. at times even missing breakfast.…I run to the train station to catch train to office… During my run to station, as clock snuggles to move a sec, I ping my husband for the exact time… our mind is enshrouded with a deep desire to make it to the train… as the next train on same route is after 28 mins… which is a huge amount of time to keep waiting here... for the entire stretch from our house to train station… time becomes our master … Everyday when we just make it to train..I thank God and promise to respect time... for I know time is eternal... hope I will soon gain integrity enough, to run with time and not become slave of time… And will win the CATCH RACE…
